Terrorism in Peru

TERRORISM IN PERU

In Peru, in the eighties was an age of terror around the country. My country went through a difficult time with the terrorism. The Sendero Luminoso and Movimiento Revolucionario Tupac Amaru (MRTA) were the principal groups that causing terror, desolation and death. The result was about 30,000 people death and economic losses over 26,000 million of dollars. More than 10 years, Peruvians lived a wrong ideology. Communist leader Abimael Guzman unleashed an armed conflict against the Peruvian state and the society, committing serious crimes against humanity.  Many people died when bombs exploded in buildings, government offices, private business, media, small farmers, public services among others. Abimael Guzman University professor in Ayacucho city began to communism ideology alienation among students and professors. It was growing through professionals and intellectuals, teachers and leaders of rural and peasant associations. It not discriminate neither rich nor poor. Ayacucho is considered the cradle of terrorism; it is located in the central southern highlands, agricultural land with a pleasant climate, warm and dry, with blue sky and bright sun permanent, which is characterized by a persistent air spring, giving generous healthy climates. The leader Abimael Guzman was captured in an exclusive residential area of Lima in the midst of opulence, surrounded by his dome and intellectual people while their followers lived in a deprivation of their rights and needs.  He was shown to the world in a cage by the media as a man put in prison, with a black and white striped jail uniform. His look and attitude showed a true leader, but defeated. Now is convicted for life in prison. Listen

In conclusion, I think that this ideology was a fact of convenience and power. Contrary to the idea that this insane group tried to put into the minds of Peruvians, “this fight would be the struggle of peasants and industrial workers against the exploiters, both the Governor.”
